With its cover, and candle bowl. It lacks the inner part which makes it work, and is tfore a decorative object. But it is an unusual form, and quite striking. We suspect it is French, maybe Italian, maybe early 19 th century, but certainly not German or English, though it would go well in a Staffordshire or Leeds creamware collection. The knop has a knock or two, the handle is broken off the little bowl, t is a tiny chip to the inside rim (not seen when the cover is on), and 5 faint hairlines at the top. The longest (shown) is about 1 ½âe and can be seen from the outside if you are looking. The others are about ¼âe to ¾âe, ditto. But the rich textures and light crazing of the piece hide them. Other than those, the piece is in remarkably good shape and displays beautifully. The handles are extremely cool, and the applied flowers quite impressive. And who can resist a lion? 8 3/4âe tall. N.B. Iâe(tm)ve been at the right place at the right lately, hence the $9.99 sales. So bid early to keep them coming, and get good pieces at reasonable prices. Please completely read our terms below.
