Conway Stewart no 27, Burgundy Hatch and Gold Fill - BEAUTIFULThis is a very nice example of the Conway Stewart type 27 fountain pen, made in distinctive Burgundy Hatch celluloid with gold-plated fittings.The type 27 is distinguished by its large, luxurious cap band and well-balanced proportions. This particular pen has its original no. 5 14-carat gold nib, which writes with a smooth, fairly wet Fine (F) line. It is in beautiful condition, with negligible brassing to the clip and none to the cap band. Like virtually all these models, there is some brassing to the filler lever .The pen has been thoroughly disassembled, ultrasonically cleaned, lightly polished and tested with Diamine ink, then flushed. It is now ready for another 60 years of service to its new owner. Please inspect the high-resolution photos above as they form part of the description. This is an extremely attractive pen and a great example of Conway Stewart design.
