Woman's Home Companion Cook Book, hardback, published in New York by Garden City Publishing Company, 951 pages. Full-page color plates of table settings and prepared dishes augmented with B&W instructional drawings. Everything from nutrition to cake decorating, 2600 recipes tested in the Companion Home Service Center. A master or basic recipe is presented accompanied by simple variations. This book first appeared in 1942; this is a later edition (1946) with an introduction by Dorothy Kirk, Food Editor of the Woman's Home Companion. There are a few loose pages and the cloth on the spine is split (see photo), otherwise a good, useable book.
