Copeland Spode 'Italian' Leaf Dish / Pickle Dish Blue & White This is a wonderful leaf shaped pickle dish made by Copeland Spode in England decorated with their Italian pattern in blue and white. In a medium to dark blue colour this dish has clearly defined serrated edges to the leaf and clearly defined veins on the underside. Possibly an early 1900's piece although I have found it very difficult to get any definitive information on the dating of this piece. The backstamp on this piece was in use from c1891 to 1970. In very good condition for age and considering the shape, with a chip to the topside edge at end of leaf and 2 small chips to the underside serrated edge. The piece is marked on its base but the backstamp is not clear however, it is in dark blue, oval shaped and the wording can just be made out 'COPELAND SPODES ITALIAN ENGLAND' and possibly '1' stamped dark blue - see photos.
