This belonged to my Grandfather, who was a seaman. I've had to google it to find out what it is as it has no name on it. I discovered this site; http://www./antiques/maritime-scientific/copper-case-hezzanith-thermograph-c1910 ....and so think this is the same. It has a heavy cast base and a copper hinged box/lid. It features the same bi-metal coiled strip attached to the "inked" nib which then moves up and down the drum. Within the drum there is a key-wound spring (I don't have the key) which keeps the drum rotating. I don't have any ink, nor the bottle for the little bottle holder. It is heavy, (about 4 kilos) hence the postage charge. I've cleaned it up a bit, but I think it needs more professional restoring if it is to be used again.
