This copper tea kettle / pot came from a Bay area estate. The heirs think it may have come from Japan, when their parents lived t during the 1960's. I have no idea about the origin, age, or the unusual ring that is included -- if anyone knows please email me! One kind eBay member did email and said her grandmother from Norway left a tea kettle just like this one as an heirloom in their family--so it may have come from a Scandanavian country! The ring goes around the edge of the kettle--not underneath it like a stand. All are made of copper, and the only mark I could find is on top of the handle -- "1.5 L" (which could stand for 1.5 litres?). I did not try to polish it or clean it in any way. The kettle stands 6" to lid finial and 8" to handle top. The bottom is 5 1/2" in diameter. The ring is 5 3/4" inside diameter and 6 3/4" outside. The spout has a hinged cover and works easily. The lid fits snugly and the handle stays up or moves easily on the hinges. This wonderful little kettle would make a great addition to any collection--or vintage decor kitchen!
