This cowboy on a rearing horse is cast of base metal with a copper finish. It stands 11 inches at its highest point, the forelock of the horseâe(tm)s mane. Although it is hollow, the statue weighs 3 ½ pounds. It is unmarked. The copper finish is attractively shiny. I would say it looks like the patina involves a protective coating of some sort. It is in very good condition. The only issue I see is minor rubbing on the high point of his chaps along the left leg and three or four other small roughnesses in the surface of the left lower chap. T is also a small dab of what looks like white paint on the back of his left hand. I didnâe(tm)t notice these until I took a very careful look and these issues do not detract from the overall appearance of the piece. I think it is well modeled. For example, the rear legs of the horse stand free from the lavish tail. The base features a rope detail and the stony slope the horse is standing on is nicely done. The rider is not stiff and both horse and rider look energetic. Its large size makes this iconic statue especially decorative. I found it at a flea market about 20 years ago. It has been kept carefully stored in a dry, non-smoking environment since I found it. I cannot say that it has not been exposed to other potential allergens. Please email me with any questions.
