~Coquettes M.I. Hummel Piece~

Up for auction is a vintage Hummel piece entitled Coquettes and numbered 179. This sweet piece depicts two German lassies, sitting on a fence with sweet sparrows keeping them company. This piece has a full Bee mark, Trademark 2, colored blue and the number 179 embossed at the base. Embossed at the back of the base is M I Hummel. T is also a silver colored sticker on the back that says Mettenheimer, Glaz-Porzellan, Geissen. In my research, I did not find any other figures for sale with this sticker, so in my eyes, this one is special.

It measures 5 inches tall and 2.75 inches across at the base. The only flaw I see is a tiny bit of roughness at the tip of the (left) birds tail. This birds tail is very pointed, as apposed to the other birds flatter and wider tail. I cannot tell if it is a chip or a manufacture defect. What a special little figurine for the loved ones in your life!
