I always take apart my Ambros to clean the glass. This one has a crack in it and a second piece of glass over the ambro glass to keep it secure in its case. Behind the ambro was a piece of paper with the name of subject and location which is rare to find. The family was "A. Corbet, Hagerstown" Behind the ambro and paper was a tintype of who I believe is the father of this family who may have died in the war. This may even be a post mortem of the man. His eyes are very vacant and black and he isn't looking very much alive. I have decided to sell these as a g roup because of I do believe this is the husband to the woman and the father of the child. I will also include the receipt from the photographer with the instructions and name of customer. 3.25"X3.75" tintype size is 2.25"X3.25" and flat like new I often show a high contrast close up but actual image is closer to second scan.mailed in a flat rate priority box with insurancePhotos are mailed in a clear cellophane bag that seals andbacked w stiff cardboard for stability. Envelope is hand canceled and stamped with a "fragile please do not bend photo enclosed " in red on outside of the envelope.
