This collection is being offered for a Limited Time Only and comes from a Part of Americana History Second To None. Our Family business closed and these postal doors were purchased and acquired from the closing of this business that was originally years ago The Streeter Company Streeter Lockboxes, Inc ~ Established in 1933 ~ Sturgeon Missouri 65284 USA Many postal doors from various manufacturers were produced starting back in the Mid - to Late 1800's Made from wood, metal and even bakelite most commonly the postal door fronts were made from Brass, Bronze, Copper Aluminum and Steel. Some of these post office mailbox locks were Nickel Plated, Copper Plated, Chrome Plated, Baked Enamel and Powder Coated over cast brass or bronze. Most of these OLD, Vintage and Antique locks either had combination tumbler type locks or keyed locks while others had rather simple turn latch openers. The Old School Mailboxes sometimes were Greatly Embellished with Glass Beveled Glass some were even hand painted and are today considered as Works of Architectural ART that is No Longer Available. more i am listing read more
