COTTAGE CHIC AESTHETIC VICTORIAN BEDROOM SET Item Description: is a superb Country Cottage Victorian bedroom set for your bidding consideration. This set is in very nicely used & original condition. Nothing altered or re-painted. Two glue blocks were added to the crown on the mirror for extra strength. The original color of a light Yellow has turned a bit darker over the years from yellowing of shellac over the paint. The shellac was used to help protect the artist hand painted design for years to come. Over one hundred years latter, it is still in great Antique condition. The hand painted accents consist of lovely floral's of Fuchsia, Roses & Water or Pond Lilies. The light Yellow background is brought to the forefront by accenting areas with multi colors (Browns & Yellows) to create a three dimensional design effect. First, let's talk about the bed. It fits a full sized mattress (58"W by 80"L) and comes complete with a headboard that stands 80 1/2" tall, footboard 34" tall & side rails. The paint on the headboard is in wonderfully condition with the exception of a few minor scratches. The flares or winged finial's at each side about 3/4 of the way upward have been cut down at some point quite some time ago. The dresser is a two full drawer Chevell style with a pair of double drawer glove boxes and tall crested framed mirror with side candle stands. T are a few very minor bumps, bruises & scratches. The crown on the mirror frame was cracked and reasonably well repaired. Two glue blocks were added by us to make it more secure. The glove boxes are rounded at the bottom front with rounded drawer faces. The left face plate was cracked and re-glued long ago. The upper drawers of the glove boxes are square. The total height of the dresser is 85 1/2" tall. The washstand or commode has one full drawer and a double door opening at the bottom. The splash has a candle stand at each side. T are some very minor bumps, bruises and scratches. The side table has a four legged pedestal base with a bottom center finial. The top edge of the table has an old knot hole in it that has dropped out, leaving a small hole along the short edge. All in all, for a complete set of this age to even be existing today is a statement in its own right. But to be existing in this kind of original condition is something else again. The measurement for each item in this set can be found below. As shown in the last photo is also has the stamp of the maker from Binghamton NY. This is a pick-up only item or delivery within a 250 mile radius can be arranged at extra cost. Bed -Headboard is 80 1/2" tall by 57 1/2" wide. The Footboard is 34"high. The total length is 78" long Dresser - Total height is 85 1/2" tall. The base is 41 1/2" long by 18" deep. It is 61 3/4" tall from the center of the dresser to the tip of the crown. The mirror itself is 17" wide by 39 3/4" tall Washstand -It is 30 1/4" long by 151/2" deep by 36 1/2" to the tip of the splash Side Table -28" tall by 23 1/2" long by 15 1/2" wide.Please email us for additional photos, we have over 10 more detailed photo's available that we would gladly share.
