From time to time I come across movie props that were used in some of the westerns shot here in Santa Fe and around New Mexico . I got this one in with a large collection others from a local costumer who was moving out of town, I bought the entire lot of old movie hats. Here is a great cowboy hat . It's a older Resistol, from the 70s made in Texas, marked 4-X Beaver, nice quality and condition . It has a 6 inch "Gus " crown with a 4 inch brim . Color is sort of mousy gray. Size is a looser fitting 7 3/8. Please check your circumference before bidding? Check the chart for your size. No odor or moth damage, a little dirt. A good clean hat for a SASS shooter's. UPS to the lower 48 stat es only. We have 3 big western movie sets (towns) here in Santa Fe including the Eaves Movie Ranch, Ford Movie Set and the Bonanza Creek Movie Set. 2-4 movies are being shot here most of the time. I rode as a mounted extra in one show just a few weeks ago (that's me on the gray) . Hundreds of westerns have been shot here over the years including Lonesome Done, Silverado, 3:10 to Yuma and True Grit staring Jeff Bridges. Harrison Ford shot"COWBOYS & ALIENS" here last fall.
