7-Day Auction* CP Bulkhead Flat unit 317187 with custom plywood load.These bulkhead flat cars come with molded on grab irons which are just a plastic raised area.I removed all of these including the ones on the ends of the car and the long 3 ft ones that allow you to climb up to the brake wheel and access to the deck which was weathered by me.I drilled all grab irons and the hoses by hand and glued the metal grabs in place.I then added the new kadee wheels,airhoses and couplers.The plywood load has wood sleepers and stretch tie downs that stay tight and can be handled without any breakage.The railcar was faded out red and then weathered by hand with a few coats of thinned black to bring the tone down and using many different hues to find the right look.I added in the details like wheel spray,grime and some rusting in the areas that my photo copy file of the prototype to help me to enhance this model.I use a number of mediums to offer the customer the very best likeness to the real thing.The wheel sets are two color (red-brown) with a black primer base coat ..I hope you like it-pete .
