This auction is for a really nice estate found block plane. Although not marked, I'm pretty sure it is a Craftsman plane version of the 9 1/2" adjustable throat plane. These planes were made for Craftsman by either Stanley or Sargent and have all the same exact features. It is the same greenish color I have seen on many of the other older Craftsman planes. It is marked on the body rear by the brass adjusting screw MADE IN USA. [ this alone tells you it is older! ] Also in front of the lateral adjument lever for sideways adjustment of the blade is marked C 3 C 151 and bottom of lever cap is marked C331 C 11. Plane measures 6 3/4" x 2" and has the finger indents on both sides just as found on the 9 1/2. Blade looks unsharpen and full length at 4 1/2" long x 1 5/8". For the most part the whole plane looks great with no damge found and with just a few very, very minor scuffs on the paint of the rear lever cap probably from storage, but definitely not from use. I've heard these are the plane of choice for fishing rod makers! As with all my auctions this is sold as found so please email all questions before bidding and thanks for looking. Total weight is 1lb.7.7oz. I only charge actual shipping in a priority box. |
