This is a 1960's Craig 408 miniature reel to reel recorder .
T is no corrosion in the battery compartment . I put new batteries in and the unit powered up and played the original tape .The sound was a bit scratchy at first and then it was quiet and I heard a voice say " test test " . The recorder is in excellent shape and the carrying case and strap are in amazing shape and look to have never been used .The spare strap and crystal ear piece are in great shape .The only cosmetic issue I can see is the microphone shows some corrosion on the back surface but operates fine . The mic cord could use some cleaning too . The microphone works and also operates the tape transport as well . Although this recorder is in excellent shape , I am selling it " as is " because of the age of the unit . A qualified tech may be needed to clean and calibrate this recorder but I dont think much needs to be done . If you have any questions or would like to see more pics , let me know . U.S sales only please .
