For sale is a great antique pickle castor. The glass insert is cranberry in color and features the thumbprint pattern. The exterior is enamel painted with beautiful flowers in a slanted line motif. Goes great with the Aesthetic style Meriden holder and lid. Insert measures slightly over 4 inches tall and the opening is 2.5 inches wide. The rim is polished and has one tiny nick on the outer lip and one tiny nick on the inner lip. Base of insert shows a Y shaped crease in the glass, very common in this particular pattern, it is from the mold. It is not a crack. The base and the lid both show light wear to the plating. On both the front and back of the base, t is a 2 leaf bud that feels rough. It may have had another leaf or flower attached to the two leaves at one point. Looks fine and is not noticeable at all. Base is marked: Meriden B. Company Quadruple Plate 263 USA. This is a great TRUE antique Victorian castor set, bid with confidence. Paypal only please.
