I am listing this very wonderful, old, 7-3/4" pitcher. The friar (?) himself is about 16" at the waistline. The handle reminds me of Quimper and the piece is certainly faience. The face is a little, well, unusual, and this will be a real charmer on your shelf. I tried to find the date by tracing the mark, but all can I tell you is that this company produced 6 marks between 1745-1934 and this is the third of those marks. This note added on 2/26 : As you can see below, a kind eBayer from France supplied the following information: Hello Montereau closed in 1955; this mark was used during the period 1870-1900. Thanks ! T are some small flecks of missing design paint and t but overall the piece is terrific, with no chips, cracks, repairs or nicks. Please be sure and to appreciate the detail. Shipping and handling are paid by buyer and unless otherwise stated, will be computed based on zip code. Paypal or money orders only. Delivery confirmation is required but insurance will be the option of the buyer in most cases. I am happy to combine shipping when more than one auction is won, and small handling fee is charged on first item only. Thanks for looking!
