ABOUT THE AMBER This amber is 92 to 95 million years old, making it one of the oldest ambers with possible bug inclusions. Thousands of tons of Dominican and Baltic ambers are mined every year, as opposed to only the few tons of rare New Jersey Cretaceous amber found, ever . Also, Dominican and Baltic amber is not nearly as old, rare, or valuable when compared to New Jersey amber. In my experience, Baltic and Dominican amber with common insects have sold for just dollars a piece. The few places online that sell New Jersey amber with insect inclusions have sold these pieces for hundreds of dollars each. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a nice size piece of amber with an insect about 4mm long peaking his head up out of the smokey bottom layer. like a monster coming out of the fog. very cool. I do not know what the insect is . this insect could have sat and fed on a dinosaurs back!
