Vintage marked Crockett bit with rawhide romal reins. The bit is overlaid silver on stainless, in good condition. T are some small nicks (my guess would be from use) on the slobber bar on the bottom edge. The engraving job is very nicely done, with the three conchos all having different patterns on each as they graduate downward. The rein chains appear to be original to the bit, and the s hooks at the attachment to the reins are marked S S S. The reins are killer. They are I think 8 plait, but I am not sure. They have some of the longest knots I have seen on rawhide reins, around 3 1/4 inches. The reins have a excellent patina, which only comes from using them, but not abusing them. They measure from chain ends to romal connector 45 inches each side, and the romal itself is 46 inches long, with a very nice weight to them. This is a nice bit and set of reins that will look very nice on someone's collectable bridle, but they also have much life and feel left to them, and could be used if someone so chose to. This item comes from a non-smoking home. I like to photograph all my items outside in natural light, but weather did not permit this today. You will like this bit and especially the reins.
