Offered for sale is a Victorian Sterling English Brooch commemorating the Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. A beautiful piece of English Royal commemoration jewelry dating to 1846. Very unusual form. A pair of intersecting letters, a V and an A are in the middle of the brooch. This stands for Queen Victoria and her Consort, Albert. The center shape is an Octagon. Surrounding the center shape is an Octagram. The entire surface is designed with a scrolling foliate and cross hatch design. Stamped on back CW &C0, Lion Passant, Queen Victoria's Head, X, Anchor. These marks denote made by Cronin & Wheeler, Sterling, Made in the year (X) 1846 in Brimingham, England. Measures: 2 1/4" wide x 2 1/4" long. Weighs 24 grams.
