Minnesota hard rock band’s debut album, features the hit single Evil Woman (Don’t Play Your Games With Me) . MEMBERS: David Wagner, Dick Wiegand, Larry Wiegand, Dave Middlemist, and Denny Craswell with Bob Schiff and Skeet Bushor. TRACKS: Evil Woman (Don’t Play Your Games With Me), White Eyes, Thoughts, Da Da Song, Busy Day, Time To Make A Turn, Rollin’, Listen To The Bop (dedicated to Chuck Berry), Gonna Leave A Mark, and Sleepy Woman. DESCRIPTION: Crow was formed in 1967, in Minneapolis, by singer David Wagner, guitarist Dick Wiegand, bassist Larry Wiegand, keyboardist Dave ‘Kink’ Middlemist, and drummer Harry Nehls under the name South 40, which was used until the group went national. Nehls was replaced by Denny Craswell (former Castaways, of Liar Liar fame, drummer) once the group went national. Columbia Records brought them in to record a demo in 1969; they passed, and Crow was signed to Amaret. In 1969, Crows debut album Crow Music was recorded. The single Evil Woman (Dont Play Your Games With Me) made the Billboard Hot 100 Top 20 that fall. Crow by Crow and Mosaic were their follow-up albums, released in 1970 and 1971 respectively.
