I got this classic Crow mother doll in from a small collection of goods near Pierre, South Dakota. It was originally collected from the Billings, Montana area in the first half of the 1900's. Her dress is made of red wool that is decorated with bone beads (to imitate elk teeth). She is wearing beaded earrings and a necklace to match. Her face has beaded detail for the face. Her hair is real. She is wearing fully beaded moccasins. The baby that she is carrying is wrapped in red wool and also has real hair and beaded facial features. The headboard and strap that hold onto the baby are beaded with little cross designs in them. The mother stands 12 3/4 inches from the top of her head to the bottom of her moccasin and 4 3/4 inches across her folded arms. The baby is 3 3/4 inches long and approx. 1 1/4 inches wide.
