Description: This is a vintage / antique 1948 Crown Trifari rooster brooch. It is adorned with tiny clear round and baguette cut rhinestones and a red rhinestone eye. All the rhinestones are glue set. T he patent that was eventually granted for this brooch was patent # 151,396 granted to Alfred Philippe for Trifari, Krussman & Fishel Inc. on Oct 12, 1948. This is still a nice little brooch! Size: It is small at approximately 7/8 inches wide and 1 1/8 inches tall Markings: Signed "TRIFARI" with a crown over the "T" and "Pat Pend" and "COPR" on the back Closure: Fold over pin clasp with roll over 'c' safety Condition: A couple of the rhinestones have been glued back in and are a little cloudy and / or darkened. Also, I almost didn't notice but it has been repaired where the pin attaches to the body on the back - but it is still pretty nice considering it is over 65 years old!
