R. Crumb original art "rotten eggs" drawing 1986, 9 x 11". I bought this from the Psychedelic Solution Gallery two days before the legendary New York Zap show in 1989. It had already been framed and ready to hang on the wall, but I snatched it up before that could happen. There were one or two other small Crumb drawings that were already gone at that point. The opening was a hot & crowded affair packed with a who's who of the underground art world. A never to be forgotten event and probably the last time Rick Griffin appeared with the other Zappers in public.The drawing has been kept in the gallery frame in storage away from sunlight - never exhibited or hung on a wall. There is a bit of white-out and was only removed from the frame once around 1994 to be scanned for the book Crumbology. It was drawn for the french tabloid Liberation and appeared on the cover of the January 28, 1986 issue and reprinted in Crumbology, Odds & Ends and the Complete Crumb Vol. 16 (see fourth image above). Free shipping either well packed as is in the frame or the drawing removed and packed separately.Look for The Crumb Compendium coming from Fantagraphics Books later this year.Sorry but US bidders only.
