Crystal radio made from old 1920's parts. This radio works Great! It has a built in audio amplifier and speaker. The speaker is mounted on one end of the tunned coil and acts like a mega phone. It has very good tone and volume. It uses a vernier tuning dial and has a ground variable capacitor. It requires an antenna and an earth ground that is all! This radio picks up local AM broadcast stations during the day and at night you can pick up Long wave beacons and Short wave forein stations and WWV time signals. Very interesting indeed! If you take your earth ground connection and experiment with it by probing around the amplifier you can change frequency bands from high to low.This is S/N 8 in a series of 15 that will be advertised on ebay. Each has it's own s/n and all are different. It uses a germainium 1n34 diode. It is of a "bread board design" like used in the early 1900's-1920's.
