This auction is for a Confederate Block "I" button (Infantry). This button has a very rare backmark. The backmark is European, possibly Prussian or British. It says "Extra Rich" and has fancy designs. I have only seen this backmark on a few buttons. This button is a kepi or cuff size and more than likely is a Late War specimen ran thru the blockade. Found in Virginia about 10yrs ago. The shank is intack as you can see, however t is a slight bend at the bottom. The button is still tight and very nice. Sorry for the lousy pictures, but its the best I can get. Shipping is FREE and no reserve! The backmark is Smith, Kent, and Wright. One of the designs on the back is a butterfly. Very desirable backmark.
