These are beautiful thin goblets/glasses which are exceptionally well made in France. They are stunning to look at with their Bacchus frosted stems. Bacchus represents the Roman God of wine and intoxication, which was introduced in 200 BC. This is an infamous naked god which has also been also been associated with sexuality; and needless to say, very controversial over the centuries. There are 6 glasses available, in 3 different poses; all of which are beautifully shaped with front and back formed bodies. The attention to detail in each design is quite superb; and some of the figures are actually adorned in grapes. They present in excellent condition with no flaws or defects anywhere to be found. Each goblet stands 6 and 5/8 in tall, with a 3 and 7/8 in stem, and a 2 and a 1/2 in top opening. The total weight of all 6 pieces is approximately 2 pounds. Glasses such as these are marvelous to have on hand when entertaining, as they can make any occasion seem special. Those collectors and enthusiasts of Bacchus decorative serving pieces will definitely not want to miss out on these truly perfect goblets. They will, without a doubt, be a welcome addition to any collection or bar. (ml35)
