This is a gorgeous piece of mosaic art! Such detail and amazing artistry!From the paperwork on the back..."This reproduction in wood of "Cuauxhicalli" (Jicara del Aguila), commonly known as "Aztec Calendar" or "Sun's Stone", is entirely made by hand using tropical fine woods, keeping their original colors. In elaboration this mosaic it was used 3,000 different pieces.Wood's: Pino, Caoba, Nogal, Barcino, Verdecillo, Granadillo, Tabaxche Sangualica.Lacquered so that his transparency allow us to admire the beautiful streaks and colors."Some of the lacquer is missing towards the edges but this hung on my uncle's wall in his office for years.I do the best to describe what I see.
