US CURRENCY 2003* $2* ~St Louis~ *STAR*, VALUE $35+ GEM CU, Old Paper Money Rare 2003* $2.00 Fed Reserve *STAR* Note ST. LOUIS We have here a $2 FRN **STAR** note. The $2.00 Federal Reserve Star Note of 2 003* in Crisp GEM Uncirculated , a real bonus to any small note collection. Check out the photos. You can enlarge the photos. It was signed by Secretary of the Treasury John Snow who resigned recently making these even rarer as no more will bear his signature. The Treasurer is Rosario Marin. Since Snow is gone this note had a very short print life having already replaced by the 2003A. In addition to that, this is the rare STAR note . Star notes are only used to replace defective notes pulled in the printing process as replacements. They are much harder to find than the regular notes from the series. This may be the rarest of all star notes issued in the last 20 years! ONLY 16,000 were printed!!! That is amazingly low for a modern note. I have 5 of these so the serial numbers will vary, but since so few were printed, the serial numbers will all be below 16,000, several are only 4 digits. Book value for the note is $35 in CU-63 , but retailers and Shop at Home TV often charge much more than book value just because they are so hard to find.
