This is a great item if you are a seamstress - or want to be. You can create your own pattern styles or make professional pattern alterations. It is a straight ruler, a French curve, a buttonhole guide, has slots for marking seam allowances. It comes with instructions for reshaping darts, shortening a bias skirt, changing necklines, marking fabric for interfacing a tailored jacket, how to round out points, making scallops, aligning buttonholes and marking seam allowances. It's made by Curve Square and distributed by Staple Sewing Aids Corp. All the above is the good 'stuff'. I have to tell you that the one edge is broken - the Designers Curve edge is broken off. It looks as if the original owner had it taped together but t is no tape now. It fits perfectly and could still be used - just glue it or tape it back together. T are some scratches on the plastic, too, but its still a very useable item. If you're into sewing or alterations, I'm sure you could make this work even with the defect.
