Chris Marks Mosaic Damascus Steel Wharncliff Profile Knife Chris Marks is a world class craftsman ( he is a Master Smith and a American Bladesmith Society Damascus Instructor) in the field of MOSAIC Damascus steel, considered by many knife makers to be the most desirable mosaic damascus craftsman. His colors and patterns are very special to collectors around the globe. GOOGLE his name and you will find many knives made with his mosaic damascus selling for $1,000 - $3,000. All blade work was done by ebayer AC Metsala , a master blade craftsman in every sense. The blade has been heat treated and blued, the actual color of the blade is a blue and red with gold and silver lines, difficult to show the true colors on a monitor. This auction includes the custom, hand made leather sheath pictured. Blade is hardened to 57-59 on the Rockwell C scale. 200+ layers This blade mosaic billet was made with W2 4800KC 1084 15N20 Nickel Steels. Overall length is about 7 1/2", blade cutting edge is about 3 1/4" This is a full tang knife, the blade and spine have been custom file worked. The scales are POLISHED, PRE-BAN Elephant Ivory (purchased from AC Metsala , and the bolsters are Mammoth Tooth Ivory from fine_turnage_productions the premiere maker of legal, Mammoth Tooth Ivory scales on ebay. This mammoth is 10,000+ years old from Siberia. Brass Mosaic pins. This is an absolutely gorgeous one of a kind knife at a flea market price. A treasure to share with future generations. Handle with care, t is no guarantee for broken handles. The stone handles are sanded and polished from 80 grit down to 800 grit.
