Breyer's companion line miniature Shetland Sheepdog customized to Christmas Ornament. Every year I paint a few unique - one of a kind Christmas ornaments. This year I have taken some of the Breyer companion dogs and painted them to look like cast bronze but I decided to throw in one totally unique. I painted the Sheltie for a look of pewter. Since I like the artist enhanced cast bronze - I decided to do the enhanced look on this one too. Logo removed, seams sanded. Painted in acrylics and pastels. Silver/pewter base coat with layers of pastels building the tri-color blue merle coat. Shaded muzzle, whisker dots and tri-color eyes. Gloss on nose, and eyes for realistic look. Painted paw pads. Several top coats of clear gloss acrylic for protection and beauty. Lots of shading that doesn't show in photographs. My customs have been winners in many online and live shows.
