Handmade custom "three finger" or palm knife forged from 1095 carbon. Blank is forged close to desired shape then I use the stock removal method to finish the shaping process. I use propane and coal fired forges. Coal is my sentimental favorite, however I main use propane. The three finger knife is a discreet way to carry a sheath knife. I have stopped carrying my 9 inch knife for a 5 1/2 palm knife. I liked it so much that I decided to forge some out. Don't be fooled because it is small. These knives have been hand forged, and had all the heat treatment I give my large large knives. The result is a small knife with great strength and cutting ability. Also, you won't typically won't find small plam knives at your local large discount stores. So if you want something different, try a palm knife. ( Called a palm knife cause the handle sits in the palm of your hand.) On my small knives I stamp the maker's mark as a " CR" for Charlie Ridge. Knife has a 3 inch blade and 2 3/4 inch handle. The back of the knife is 3 /16 thick and the blade is 1 and 1/4 inch tall. The blade is tapered from the handle to the tip. The handle on this knife is made of curly maple with nice figure . Pin work is with brass rod. This knife has a full tang handle with a thong hole. The thong is leather. This blade has been sharpened on professional equipment. THIS BLADE IS VERY SHARP! DO NOT TEST WITH YOUR FINGERS!!!! The wood has been epoxied to the tang and then coated with polyurathene. I DO leave a few tooling marks, and forging marks on most of my blades ( usually towards the back of the blade). This is so you know that I cut this blade out of a large saw blade and shaped it myself. My blades are built one at a time in my shop and I build them ' from scratch' . These are NOT blades ordered in from a supply company and a handle attached. This blade has been heated to exceed 1600 degrees and then the bottom half of the blade quenched in oil to harden the cutting edge. Then the blade has been tempered . To temper I heat the blade to 375 degrees and hold t for one hour. This process is repeated three times. This is a very nice, well built knife and if taken care of properly will easily last a life time. As you can see in the picture the knife easily cuts through heavy tooling leather. The sheath is also designed and made by me. It is made of heavy tooling leather ( 8 or 9 oz.) and has been hand tooled and is oil finished. My friends call me 'Charlie' and I have been making knives since I was eleven. This knife is designed to be a working custom. Thanks for looking. I will take your personal check, however please allow 10 days for check to clear my bank. I will ship the next business day if paying by pay pal. Also YOU are responsible for knowing the laws in your area. If you order any of my knives you are assuming all legal and civil responsibilities. I OFFER A MONEY BACK RETURN IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH YOUR KNIFE. Return it in 7 days in original condition for your money back, however I cannot refund shipping charges.
