This frontier style spike tomahawk was forged and initialed by me S.Willis from a 24 oz U.S. made ball peen hammer. It has a good feel and is well balanced. The O.A.L. of the head is 8 5/16 inches. The blade width is 2 3/4 inches. The spike is a tapered square grind. The length is 4 1/4 inches from the center of the haft eye. I use the differential method of heat treating. The head has been lightly aged to resemble the color of some of the early firearms. The haft is handmade from premium curly cherry. It has a traditional oil and beeswax finish applied. The haft length is 18 3/16 inches. This hawk was made to be used or decorative. This would make a good re-enactor's, S.A.S.S. member's,muzzleloader's, frontiersman or mountain man's hawk.
