This is one cool knife! A custom, hand made, Kukri. Made famous by the Gurkahs of Nepal. Almost 15 inches long, with a blade over 9 inches! This is NOT a made in china replica!! It is REAL. It was made in India. I bought it from a guy from India, at a bazzar near Ali Al Salem Air Base Kuwait. This was 2 deployments ago. (Just after 9-11) Hand made because that's how they get knifes, unless they trade for them. Not many Wal Marts in the desert. The handle and sheith are a very dark wood, (ebony I was told) and adorned with silver and brass decorations. The blade decor is cut directly into the steel. A knife blade and flowers on one side, a sea serpent on the other. This is a collector item that was hand made and brought back from the other side of the world. It is not "shaving sharp" but is big and heavy enough to take an arm or leg off. It does display well. I did use it once to take some low hanging branches off a couple trees in my back yard... just to test it. I am not a knife expert, but I do have many knifes. The quality of a hand forged knife like you can get "in the world" in the U.S.A. is better... Like if you are buying a $500 custom... but this is the REAL THING. This is identical to the blades that gave this type their fame. Shipping is $10.00 USPS priority mail. Ins $3.00 extra. I will only ship to U.S. and Canada. DO
