This is a Steve Mackrill knife hand made by Mackrill Custom Knives in the Republic of South Africa. Blade is marked "S. MACKRILL - MAKER - REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA" on obverse, (left) side and "24-100" with the Safari Club International logo on the reverse, (right) side. Knife and sheath are in unused and un-carried condition. Meranti case has minor scratches on the exterior and some minor damage to the felt, on the interior, appears to be from the blade of the knife. The certificate of authenticity includes the following: Style No.: SCI Spec #24 Steel: N690 Heat-treated to: 60R/C Fittings: Brass Handle: Kudu Bone / Kudu Horn Remarks: Meranti Case / Buffalo Hide Sheath Date: 8/7/97 "Buffalo Hide" most likely refers to Cape Buffalo Hide judging by the makers location in South Africa. Knife measures, 10 inches long with a 4.5-inch drop point blade. Being hand-made no two are alike, perhaps similar but ONE-OF-A-KIND !
