You are bidding on a Private Collections Custom Knife, made by Dan Grubaugh. This is a real beauty! The drop point damascus blade is in a exotic Twist pattern consisting of 125 layers of 1084 carbon steel and 15n20 nickel steel that is forged in the USA. Each blade is hand ground and is heat treated and tempered to a Rockwell of 57-58. The scales are made of gorgous, extra thick,15,000 year old highly figured Mammoth tooth with mammoth ivory bolsters with a brass spacer, all held securely in place by brass mosaic pins w/ copper accents. Scales are hand rubbed to 1500 grit, hand rubbed with up to 40 layers of my "special sealant", and then buffed to a high gloss finish! With this coating, the handle material will not fade or loose it's color with age and is waterproof. Overall length is 7 1/4 inches with a cutting edge of 3 inches. Well balanced and feels great in the hand! This is a gorgous knife that would make a special addition to any collection! All of my knives are highly collectable, yet durable and rugged enough to withstand years of use in the field! I use only the finest quality materials in the knives that I make. Sure, it costs more to do so, but when finished, you have a hierloom quality knife that you will be proud to pass on to future generations! Thanks for looking and bid with confidence.
