Story: All over the world t be stories of ghost ships, phantom vessels that travel the seas for whatever reason. Some be cursed pirates doomed to roam the oceans incessantly as penance for their crimes, some be crewed by seamen lost forever to Davey Jones. Whatever the reason, and wver they may be found they all mean be seriously bad omens. These ships almost always spell doom for whoever be unlucky enough to set his eyes on ‘em. The story of the Spectre be an especially tragic and fateful one. The Morning Star as she was at that time known set out from Wales one day in August of 1645. She was a simple merchant vessel crewed by six men who unbeknownst to them would be cursed to sail the seas for all eternity. As the Morning Star entered her second month at sea something unexpected befell her… She was struck by pirates. She did her best to overcome them, however with but six cannons and such a small crew she was no match for her attackers. The scurvy lot of brigands boarded her, stole her cache of loot, and the bloodthirsty cutthroats were not even so kind as to offer quarter to her poor crew. The pirates took pleasure in shooting down the youngest crewmen, they stabbed the quartermaster, decapitated the boatswain, and prepared the captain and first mate for a little meeting with noose at sea. The brigands turned the main mast of the Morning Star into a makeshift gallows. At this point they pushed the first mate off and proceeded toward the captain. Before they had the time to shove the captain off the mast he uttered these words: “No matter how long it takes I will avenge meself and me crew!” His words echoed out even as he fell toward his sudden stop. The pirate scum headed back to their ship the Bloody Delight and opened fire on the Morning Star sending her to the depths. This would be the end of most stories, however the Morning Star’s captain had a bit too much spirit for all that. Exactly one year after the Morning Star was sunk a merchant ship traveling through the Atlantic reported seeing a ship of the same sort, except that it glowed with an eerie white light. The passionate vow of the captain of the Morning Star had brought it and her crew back, but in a slightly different form. The Morning Star had been re-christened the Spectre , a phantom vessel that roams the seas despite her tattered sails, and long dead crew. The crew of the Spectre now each bear within themselves the instruments of their own demises. This ship of ghostly gents now sails the waters of the Atlantic searching for pirates, searching for the Bloody Delight. Aye the Spectre will not rest, she will never see port until the day that her crew has seen that the pirates who downed her have arrived at their long anticipated appointment with the gallows! Description: Up for bid is a wonderful, one of a kind Pirate Ghost Ship (the Spectre) constructed from pieces from Lego, Mega Bloks, and Best-Lock. This ship has been constructed, custom painted (along with its crew) given hand made tattered sails, a specially prepared skeleton ornament on the bow, rigged with a few feet of twine, set up with pirate treasure, crew, a row boat, and tons of imagination! This set is comprised of over 500 pieces.Most of the pictures were snapped on a twin size bed for perspective. You get everything seen in the pictures (the ship, a row boat, 7 mini figures with accessories) plus some extra pieces to construct a pirate island out of. The set does not actually come with fog, however the effect was accomplished with a large bowl, some hot water, and a few chunks of dry ice (warning dry ice is very hazardous and should not be handled without proper safety gear, and never by children.) This is a perfect chance to get your hands on a building block pirate set that you cannot get anyw else, so don't miss your chance!
