Custom Patch Knife, Spalted Pecan

This is a neat little patch knife for your collection or everyday use. Blade is finely crafted from 1095 hign carbon tool steel, hollow ground, full tang. It has a 1000 grit hand rubbed finish in keeping with the mountain man period. Blade is heat treated and tempered to 58 Rockwell. The bookmatched, stabilized scales are finely figured and colored spalted pecan. The spalted pecan is unusual because it has a green tinge around some of the spalting caused, I assume, by the spalting organisms. Very attractive. The pins are brass. Nice filework on blade tang. Price includes a nice antiqued sheath, hand stitched and made from 6 oz. top grain cowhide. The sheath has antler buttons on front and has thongs on back so it can be laced to the strap of your possibles bag. Overall length of this knife is 6 inches. Blade length is 2 3/4 inches. I am a retired civil engineer, now a full time knife maker and take great pride in crafting quality knives. Only the finest material goes into my knives. Steel is purchased from a supplier that will guarantee the analysis. No mystery steel from the junk yard. The blade is hand ground and heat treated in my shop so I can control the process. Each blade is individually Rockwell tested. I prefer to use natural material for scales and purchase top grade material for this purpose. I make my own sheaths from high quality leather.My knives are fully guaranteed and if one should fail from normal use, I will replace or refund your purchase price. That said, my knives are not screwdrivers or pry bars. Nor are they made to be thrown. Abuse or neglect is not covered in the guarantee.
