I’ve got a few weeks of items to sell off. These are items that no longer fit into the current layout. I will be taking next week of in honor of the Super Bowl, but will return the following week. GN 39664 – 50’ Cushioned Single Door Boxcar This is an old Front Range product that I modified many, many years ago. I once had tremendous appliance traffic and needed some cars that were built for such loads. The Great Northern or rather Burlington Northern (later era) interchanged with my former layout and these were perfect additions. It is custom painted and decaled to match a number series of GN cars. These lasted in Glacier Green well into the BN era. The car had an Overland running board added as well as A-Line stirrup steps. I added cushioned coupler pockets, Kadee 58’s later and had formed cushion coupler cut bars out of wire. I don’t directly interchange with the GN anymore and this car is for interchange with another railroad. Truth or Dare? Truth. What does this mean? It means that this custom car is a reasonably close or dead match to a prototype. You can readily find photos of it on line or in books. You will rarely find a bogus car from me, if I have one, I’ll claim it as a “Dare.” There sure seem to be many caricatures of equipment out there (40’ steam era boxcars with modern graffiti?! P-S TBOXs?! Really?!). Get real… Get Hat Creek.
