These two pieces are so sweet. Original 1950s , there is a dress and jacket in matching fabric- please note though, that while the jacket is in excellent condition, the dress is in wearable but fair condition, and the pieces are being sold more as two garments than as a set to wear together for this reason. In a fabric that feels like a cotton/ linen blend, its a sunny yellow with the most charming novelty print of little sketchy flowerpots- adorable! The dress is simple and sweet- a sleeveless summer frock, the bodice is shaped with waist darts front and back and bust darts in front, and a slim skirt is shaped with little waist box pleats in front and darts in back, where it is cut in panels and given a bit of extra flare. The jacket is more striking- closely tailored with waist darts front and back, it has chic tapered dolman, cuffed bracelet length sleeves, and is cut just to the waist, where it fastens with a single bold black button. The dress would be a fun frock for at home wear or casual events, and think how fab the jacket would look over a pencil slim black wiggle dress! Think of those daytime jive , swing or rock n roll dances, rockabilly weekenders or vintage themed events, or any day at all for a bit of fun vintage flair, with the dress or the jacket! Measurements: DRESS; bust: approx 37" (would be appropriate for a 34" to 35 " bust) waist: 26 1/2" (would be appropriate for a 25 or 25 1/2 " waist) hips: 41" bodice length: 15" (from intersection of neckline and shoulder seam to waist seam) skirt length: 27" (from waist to hemline) with up to 1" in hem available to let down. JACKET; bust; approx 37" (measured with slight gap in low v-neckline, as worn) waist; 27" (would fit a 25" or 26" waist)*note, this dress is shown with a necklace which is not included in the auction.*Labels: no labels found. Looks to be a home sewn ensemble.Closure: metal zipper in left side seam of dress, jacket has 1 button front closure. Condition: As stated, the dress is in fair vintage worn condition, and the jacket is in excellent condition. The dress has no popped seams and can be worn, but note, it is quite faded (especially when compared to the jacket, so as you can see from the pic I would not say they could be worn together). The edges on the bodice show some wear, and there is some contained fraying to the area at top of zipper placket (see close up pics provided). There is a small darn beside right front bodice dart, but very hard to notice as its lost in the print. There are 4 small marks on front skirt towards hemline- see pic provided, and one more dot on left skirt front pleat. Jacket is bright, not faded, no marks or flaws found. All in all, the dress is only offered since it is part of the set- please note its condition. Fab print and jacket though!
