Cybis Baby Jesus Nativity with Lamb First Christmas Figurine CollectibleDESCRIPTION: This beautiful Cybis Baby Jesus with lamb is an example of the quality and detail created by Cybis Porcelain. The baby Jesus lies in a manger made of stylized wood and hay. A lamb representing the symbol of renewal, innocence and life; lays to the left of baby Jesus. The left hand of baby Jesus has the third and fourth finger closed is a gesture of blessing. This wonderful figurine is in excellent condition; there are no chips, cracks, marks or repairs. There are three manufacture marks 1) Cybis USA, incised, in red. 2) A dove, relief. 3) Cybis, with the copy write symbol, 1982, U.S.A., circa 1982.COMPANY INFORMATION: Boleslaw Cybis (1895-1957) was born in Vilnius Lithuania. In his early years he was a gymnast and by 1915 he attended St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts. Cybis was a painter and sculpture, known for his murals in Paris, Geneva, Munich and many other cities. In the 1930's Cybis' work was exhibited at Art Museums in the U.S. In 1939 Cybis and his wife, Marja came to the United State to paint a series of murals commissioned by their government in the 'Hall of Honor" at the 1939 New York World's Fair.
