CYRANO de BERGERAC Art Doll Hand Stitched & Human Hair 15” art doll with human hair dressed as a gentleman in the court of the French King Louis XIII unusually large nose probably meant to represent Cyrano de Bergerac no labels finely detailed costume trimmed in 3 different goldtone wire laces cuffs and neck ruff look like miniature bobbin laces jacket and pantaloons of herringbone damask and velvet ribbons buff silk stocking legs with shoes trimmed in gold braid and silk rosettes with goldtone bead centers thumb mitten cotton hands marcelled wig of what looks like human hair Victorian cut steel button used as belt buckle laminated felt hat trimmed with goldtone lace and decked with chicken and parakeet feathers face has large stitched beak nose, glued-on eyebrows, moustache and Van Dyke beard eyes and mouth painted on dolls of this type were popular in 1920’s, but this one probably made about 50 years later small spot on doll’s left leg no other stains no holes stitches intact length – 15 inches arm span - 12½” - questions ??? – e-mail buyer pays shipping and handling fee (if any) we ship via USPS (unless requested otherwise) only actual postage charged in some cases guesstimate given until packed for shipment and winner notified due to size or location First Class for most items up to 13 oz. otherwise read more
