Beautiful Czechoslovakian Bird double bud Vase with Dime MarkThis wonderful bud vase is part of a huge series of bird items, including candlesticks, flower frogs, baskets and wall pockets that was produced in Czechoslovakia in the 1920s to 1940s. These items are remarkable for their use of rich color that is bold but not garish. They are airbrushed with hand-painted details added, such as beak, eyes, and feet. This bird is in two shades of luster, white on the trunk and yellow for the bird. The white and yellow lustre is especially pretty because it has a rainbow sheen w the light hits it.This bud vase depicts a lovely songbird perched between two trunks of a tree. He's in excellent condition (esp. considering his age!) with just one exception: his beak is a little flat on the end. I can't tell whether someone touched it up or if it was made that way. Otherwise, t are no chips, cracks or repairs. Marked with the "Made in Czecho-Slovakia" dime mark in brown, as well as the number 16. He measures about 6-1/4" tall and 3-1/2" wide. I imagine this one with daffodils in it---pretty!Please feel free to email me with any questions, but please allow a day to respond before the end of the auction.Winning bidder pays Priority Mail shipping.
