DESCRIPTION : You are bidding an OUTSTANDING sterling silver necklace that was made in Taxco, Mexico, after 1978, by silver maestro D. MOLINA. This piece is masterfully crafted in a playful fish motif. This necklace consists of a multitude of fully articulated fish scales ~ the scales are designed to interconnect on the back so that the connections don't show from the front which gives this piece fabulous design flow. The clasp is quite unique ~ the box portion is a large fish head and the clasp portion is the fish's tail ~ when closed, t are two silver demi sps that look like bubbles that have just escaped from the fish's mouth! ~ the clasp works perfectly and closes with a crisp 'click'. This is a timelessly elegant and sophisticated Taxco necklace ~ it is a classic and extremely well made ~ it would be a grand asset to your vintage Taxco silver collection!!! SIZE: Inside circumference when closed is 16", width is 5/8", and weight is 103 grams. CONDITION : Superior vintage condition ~ no dents/dings to balls or silverwork ~ no damage noted ~ just about PERFECT! HALLMARKS : "D. MOLINA, MEX, 925, TM-90" (the TM-90 isn't very legible but I've sold other pieces by the same artist). Hallmark "TM-90" is shown on page 267 of Bille Hougart's highly respected source book, The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks (2006 edition) read more
