Up for auction is a boxed jumbo-sized pin featuring Ariel from the 1989 Disney animated feature The Little Mermaid . This pin was offered by Disney Store as a D23 Expo 2013 exclusive, as part of its "Art of Ariel" collection, in an edition size of 300 pins, which sold-out almost immediately.The pin is enclosed in a blue clamshell case with a silver "Art of Ariel" logo on the top half, and the Disney Store logo / "Limited Edition of 300" text on the bottom half. The clamshell is contained within its original colorful cardboard package featuring the painted artwork of Ariel on which the pin is based.The silver-toned cloissonne pin measures about 3 inches (7.6cm) tall and 2½ inches (6.35cm) wide. Ariel's lower body, fins & waist have a subtle 'glitter' texture. She is depicted in a relaxed ¾ rear-view pose, with her hair flowing to the left. The pin fastens on two points with included black rubber "Mickey Ear" clasps.The pin and clamshell case are in excellent condition; it has been carefully stored in a smoke-free home, and has never been worn or displayed. The outer cardboard box exhibits minor shelf wear on its corners; but is otherwise sturdy and colorful.
