This dagger was purchased in 1996 from a gentleman in Boca Raton, FL who said it was his boot dagger when he was dropped behind enemy lines into Italy during the 2nd World War. His family was from Italy but he was born in the United States and he went to Italy every summer with his parents to visit family there unitl he finished high school. He said Italian was the language of his parents and he spoke it like a native. he said the Bayonet had no marking to show where it was made. It was his only weapon when he dropped in to gather information on enemy troops. Total length of dagger is 13 inches long. The handle is 4 1/2 inches long.
