Description: Sixth plate daguerreotype of adorable little girl, who appears to be about four or five years old. She has big, light colored eyes, beautiful dark hair in long bottle curls and a sweet expression. She is not from a wealthy family; her cotton off-the shoulder dress is not stylish or expensive, but her mother has lovingly adorned it with silk bows on each shoulder, which have been tinted pink. She stands demurely, with one arm leaning on the small draped side table (the floral design on the tablecloth has also been tinted pink). This is one of my very favorite dags of a child. The image is housed in a full case, the cover of which depicts a bust of George Washington. Condition: The image is in very nice shape, with no scratches, abrasions, mold spiders or other major blemishes. T is the usual slight ring of tarnish along the edge of the frame, as well as a couple tiny dark specks of tarnish and some very faint lighter patches in the background field that are invisible at most angles. The leather veneer of the case has peeled off in several places, but the hinge remains firm and functional.
