An extremely rare and beautiful one-nineth plate daguerreotype ( this may be an ambrotype, I'm being told ) with a period pencil marking on left inside sleeve "18 years". (This was , not added by me). My guess is that she is of Indian or Mexican descent and very lovely. The back of the daguerreotype is still in perfect shape and has the name and address of the photographer studio in Boston. T doesn't seem to be any tarnish; a small "scratch" on inside, but this maybe a piece of fuzz or string. Looks virturally dirt-free, no green spots resting on plate. All in all, this is in excellent condition. The leather case needs cloth tape on back seam, but besides that, this is something that is hard not to find delight in if you are a collector!! Housed in full leather case with some wear - Circa 1850. I accept PayPal only and would like payment within 3 days after auction end. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!!
