It's going to be a very good Christmas. That's because Santa is bringing these two extraordinary clocks, estate-fresh and oh-so-lovely. Oh yes, Christmas is going to be very good indeed!DAINTY ANTIQUE FRENCH BRASS TRAVEL CLOCK WORKS GREAT ++ Preview photo. Please see close up and other views of the item offered in this auction below. This lovely antique travel clock is an absolute wonder! It stands just 3" tall, with the handle adding another 0.75" to its total height, and 2" wide by 1.75" deep - by far the smallest travel clock we've ever seen! The brass and glass case is gorgeous, with a warm patina to the metal, and a lovely glint to the beveled edges of the glass - even on pane up top!! Its tiny bulk rests on a footed brass base, and is lifted and carried by means of the sweet handle, also in gleaming brass. The porcelain dial features Roman numerals telling the hour and minute. Both the lovely, delicate original hands are still , sweeping grandly around the dial. And yes, we do have the original key! It's a perfectly dainty, scaled-down version of the carriage clock model, just right for carrying along on a nineteenth-century trip! And the workings! Antique clocks never cease to amaze me with their extraordinary blend of beauty and functionality. In this case, the glass panels on all sides allow a clear and unfettered view of the intricate inner workings of the clock. The rectangular window up top even allows you to look in and watch the balance wheel at work! The back reveals a single marking: "Hands," etched deeply into the brass by the winding stem. The flange by the balance wheel is marked "RA." Even the tiny winding stem received extra attention from the maker: the arrow indicating which direction to turn it becomes a decorative touch in itself, with little flourishes of the engraver's tool adding real visual appeal. The whole is in quite wonderful condition, with no dents, dings, or real scratches that I can discover. Even the delicate beveled edges of the glass panes are unmarred. The porcelain dial is in truly immaculate condition, with no chips, cracks, or discoloration anyw The brass case does exhibit some discoloration, which I can only imagine is reversible. The workings are in perfect order and are all original to our knowledge. It works perfectly and keeps great time! And just wait till you hear it chime - are you ever in for a treat! Santa's sleigh is sure to have some really great presents in it this year, and one of them is this exceptional carriage repeater clock. With a starting price of only $19.99, this is sure to be a hot one, so bid early and often to ensure it's your chimney Santa carries it down! ITEM PHOTOS & CLOSE-UPS WE WELCOME YOUR EMAIL We want you to know what you are buying and be happy with your purchase! With this in mind we sincerely expect & urge you to ask as many questions as you like and request additional photographs prior to bidding so that you are confident with your purchase! The one thing we do ask when you are corresponding with us via email, whether it be before, during or after an auction has closed, is that you keep your emails polite. Far too often in today's eBay community we're finding a class of citizen that feels the need to open the gates with rudeness, sarcasm, or blatant disrespect.
